Adults, children can participate in fundraiser for East St. Louis’ ChristianActivityCenter and Tanzania mission trip for children’s relief
Belleville, Ill. – June 12, 2009 – Children and adults can join in for the Allsup 5K Run/Walk fundraiser at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows on Saturday, June 27. The adults’ run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m., and the children’s half-mile fun run begins at 9:15 a.m.
The 5K run/walk is sponsored by Allsup. Based in Belleville, Ill., Allsup is the nation’s leading Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation company. Proceeds go to two children’s charities — the Christian Activity Center, based in East St. Louis and providing children’s services and programs; and the Tanzania mission trip, which is part of the Africa Project and provides aid to children suffering from malnutrition and other diseases.

5K registration includes T-shirts. Late-entries will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers by age group. Rewards will be given to all children finishers in the half-mile fun run (12 and under, no T-shirt). Free refreshments will be provided.
