Coordination and Attention Can Produce Substantial Savings
In a review of 50 claims for a leading workers’ compensation insurance carrier, the results were significant.
- Allsup discovered 11 claims with SSDI offsets already applied. However, these offsets had not been applied in a timely manner by the client resulting in a loss of more than $300,000.
- Allsup produced an additional 12 SSDI offsets. Projected future savings to the end of the offset period for these claims amounted to more than $2.3 million.
- From the time the client should have applied these 12 additional SSDI offsets until Allsup actually did, the client lost nearly $400,000 in unrecoverable benefit payments.
